Samuel L. Roberts

Law Practice

Sam spent two years in law school working part-time with an east coast law firm who represents the interests of a Fortune 500 company in the energy law area.  He also clerked for the Administrative Law Judges at the Oregon Public Utilities Commission Hearings Division and through this work he gained an unusual depth of experience in administrative law and in the developing area of energy law.  We look forward to Sam’s contributions to our firm and to the community as he develops his practice.  

Representative Work

• Assessed energy issues in newly enacted state legislation and provided written analysis and summaries for a Fortune 500 company.

• Assisted lead attorney in obtaining a favorable outcome for a large corporate client in a dispute regarding a proposed environmental indemnity agreement.

• Assisted administrative law judge in drafting the Oregon Standard Large Generator Interconnection agreements.

• Assisted administrative law judges in the disposition of general rate cases involving Oregon investor-owned utilities. 

Background and Interests

Sam enjoys outdoor sports particularly whitewater kayaking, backpacking and track and field events (he was a pole vaulter for the University of Washington).
